FY 2025 Legislative Update
Congress passed a continuing resolution on September 25, 2024, to keep the government funded through December 20, 2024, avoiding a shutdown at the end of the fiscal year. Lawmakers will need to address both the Farm Bill and government funding when they return after the November elections. Read the article to learn more.
House Bill 2204 Emergency Liquor Permit Rulemaking Stakeholder Feedback Sessions
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Control Board will be hosting the second of two feedback sessions on House Bill 2204, Emergency Liquor Permits. These sessions are part of the process the LCB undertakes to formally create new regulations and amend existing regulations. Learn more about the sessions by clicking the button.
B.C. Canada Winegrape Export Resources
The prolonged and severe cold snap in British Columbia, Canada, this winter has proven devastating to the BC winegrape supply. The B.C. Provincial regulations are allowing temporary relief to allow B.C. wineries to import winegrapes, and the Washington wine community stands ready to supply winegrapes through cross-border shipment. Learn more about resources for winegrowers and wineries!
Come Over October
"Come Over October," led by wine expert Karen MacNeil, is a new national celebration of wine’s role in bringing people together, launching with a bipartisan wine reception in Congress on September 25. This month-long event invites wine lovers to gather with friends and family, celebrating the communal spirit of wine across the U.S. in October.
